My travelling companion is my very best friend, Mrs McLeay.We have been planning the journey together and are both very excited.  Mrs McLeay will take a lot of the photos that get posted on this blog.

Planning my Trip

This blog is dedicated to the 350 students at Riverview School, in Kerikeri.  Others who read it are asked to keep this in mind.  However, I hope all who check out our travels will enjoy a little of the adventures Margie (Mrs McLeay) and I experience over the next 11 weeks.

This blog follows the travels of Ken and Margie McLeay. I am the recipient of an ASB-APPA Travelling Fellowship, allowing me to travel and study a topic of significance to the New Zealand educational sector. The travels will begin on April 18 and conclude with our return to New Zealand in the first week of July.


Our first 6 weeks will be in North America. Later, we will travel through parts of Scotland, England and Wales. On our way back to New Zealand, we will visit Brisbane for a week. In each of these places we will be visiting schools and learning about how school principals are appraised and finding what works best in each situation.
